To those who have been following the many expansion rumors, today at Blizzcon, the next WoW expansion was revealed. It's entitled Wrath of the Lich King, and will take players to Northrend to tackle the Scourge and ultimately Arthas.

And according to the website, the rumors are true and the Death Knight will be the first playable hero class.

While the chance to explore new zones and dungeons is cool, I think the expansion will happen too soon, and we might not get to see high end raid content while it's still meaningful. And then have a new expansion, new level and rep grind, only to have more content that I may never see.

Agreed, agreed, agreed. The non-hardcore guilds are just getting geared up enough to start the real 25 mans like SSC, The Eye, Black Temple and Hyjal and before most of them even see half of it they're going to collapse again in preparation for yet another 10 level grind to more raid content (shoot me in the face). I don't mind them piling on the raid content to appease the hardcore guilds racing through it all, but STOP upping the level cap. And if they change the raid member count to 10 or 40 or some other number...

I'm not really sure why in 6 months (or something like that) they feel the need to get another expansion going. Maybe they've seen how many longtime players have burned out and quit shortly after hitting 70 and they freaked out and wanted to try to bring them back in. Who knows.

I'm also disappointed the hero class is just on it's own. I was hoping each class would have a chance to "upgrade" somehow after hitting 80. Like an 80 shadowpriest doing a chain of quests to become a shadowmancer or something like that, not just some generic class we define as a "hero".

I'm gonna go complain more to my hamburger while I eat it.

I doubt they will, but if they change the raid structure again I'm quitting. There was too much drama from the 40 --> 25 man change to want to go through again. And lets hope they've learned their lesson about starting raid progression with a 10 man.

I don't mind leveling up again, as long as it's not too long and doesn't feel like a grind.

And yeah, I thought hero classes would be implemented as a true specialty of a particular spec. The way the seem they'll be doing it (you do some kind of quest which "unlocks" the ability to roll a high level Hero class) is strange. Also, WTB Orc Blademaster.

More Expansions = more Money. Hence why we have a new one so soon. Hopefully they will reduce the Rep BS so people can get on with their lives.

I have a feeling they're not gonna let you use your flying Outland mounts there..... crappy. Maybe I can get a 5200g refund to put towards the probable Northrend mounts!

I read somewhere that flying mounts will be available in Northrend, they just didn't have it implemented in the demo that appeared at Blizzcon.

The central hub of Northrend (the next Shattrath) is going to be Dalaran, floating above the continent, so presumably the only way to get there will be by flying.

I think I remember something about post BC there being a new WoW expansion every year or so.

Looks like they're following through.
