/RAGE at this.

I do not want this. I feel like all of the benefits of being a hybrid DPS class are going out the window.

Also:

This design makes sure that finding a healer with the ability to remove magic isn’t restrictive in building teams for Arenas or rated Battlegrounds.

As previously mentioned, we are providing three dispel capabilities to all healing classes as follows:
Druids will be able to dispel defensive magic, curses, and poison.
Paladins will be able to dispel defensive magic, diseases, and poison.
Priests will be able to dispel defensive magic, offensive magic, and disease.
Shaman will be able to dispel defensive magic, offensive magic, and curses.

Contradict much? Who cares if you can dispel magic when Blizzard's pet class (Death Knights) can run rampant with undispellable diseases that only 2 classes can *try* to remove?

I need someone to clarify this. Purge would be classified as defensive or offensive magic?

Purge is offensive.

Per the article:
An example of defensive magic dispelling would be using a dispel to free a polymorphed ally, while offensive magic dispelling would be utilizing a dispel ability to strip away an enemy’s buff or heal-over-time (HoT) spell. The main distinction between these two types is in whether or not you can target an enemy with your dispel.

I love you, but did you read the article?

Protection and Retribution paladins will lose their current ability to dispel magic.

Restoration shaman, Restoration druids, and Holy paladins will need to talent into their defensive magic dispels.

Bah, kitty dispel would be awesome. I can see a lot of QQing from mages though, since resto druids will be both immune to poly and able to dispel it off others.

I'm with Sel on this concerning shamans. It's crazy to get rid of yet another useful totem mechanic.

It doesn't bother me that shamans have their types of dispells swapped around- it's bothersome that they keep screwing with what makes the shaman class fun and unique- totems. How many times have they taken away totems, or combined them with another totem, or made them altogether useless?

I know lots of the past changes were due to having too many totems to choose from etc etc- but really now, can't shamans keep some kind of special thing about them, aside from bloodlust?

I only ever really dispell via cleanse (as ret) in PvP so the change for me would be very situational and easy to adapt to. I've tried in other encounters but out healers are just too good for it to be worth the effort and the .5 sec loss from a partial cd on a failed cleanse attempt.

After reading the shaman preview I'm kinda torn. The changes to dispells will suck in certain situations, but all the other stuff we are getting is packed with awsome, so I'm not sure I care.
