Okay, AVR + AVR encounters... simply amazing mod.

AVR adds the ability to draw meshes into the game-world that are visible by others. Basically can turn the raid leader into John fucking Madden!

The Encounters mod for it basically puts up nice visible cues for shit in mid-fight.

Here's an example of it in action on prof putricide.

I used it for festergut the other night and while it sadly didn't track malleable goos in that fight, it did put up nice range+timer circles under the spores which made it super-easy to see where one was and where they needed to be.

Ill chime in here to agree with Kram. AVR has the ability to turn some difficult encounters into easy mode. I used AVR on Festergut, and then on Sindy10H and Putricide10H.
In every encounter it shows important information that can help you recognize if YOU are messing up, or if someone else is doing something incorrectly.
Like the video shows.... For Putricide... when people get targetted for Malleable, it puts a big red targetting circle on the ground, showing where the ooze is going to land, and its splash radius.
Some people might say that it takes some of the challenge and fun out of the game to have an additional level of information available to you like this... but I liken it to DBM. The timers ect that are given by DBM are no different, and its considered a REQUIRED mod for real raiding. AVR should also seriously be looked at by every raider.

true if you have horrible raid awareness like Jbean you should get this mod.
If you can't read raid warnings you should get this mob
If neon green circles are hard for you to see get this mod
If you don't know where/when to run get this mod

if you want to be the best raider possible, get this mod.

Can always count on shiro for the negative comment.

I'll put my raid awareness against pretty much anyone. (everyone makes mistakes sometimes) but I think that EVERY raider having MORE available information helps us all in the long run.

This mod is especially helpful to see the things that other people might be doing that will affect you. And make it easier for you to take care of yourself. It's true on most fights, but to continue with the putricide example.... When the goo gets thrown, but not on you... And everyone who was standing there moves, this makes it possible to know where the original target was, which otherwise there is no way to know.
I wouldn't be surprised if it marks splash DMG range on things like empowered shocks as well. Making it easier to see if that guy next to you is too close.

http://www.worldofraids.com/topic/16727-avr-mod-broken-in-335-and-ruby-sanctum-testing/

This is a notice that we’re making changes in 3.3.5 in attempts to break the ability for the AVR (Augmented Virtual Reality) mod to continue functioning. For those unaware, this mod allows players to draw in the 3D space of the game world, which can then be shared with others who are also using the mod. In some cases this manifests itself through drawing/tagging/defacing the game world, but more popularly is used to give visual guides for dungeon and raid encounters.

We’re making this change for two reasons. The invasive nature of a mod altering and/or interacting with the game world (virtually or directly) is not intended and not something we will allow. World of Warcraft UI addons are never intended to interact with the game world itself. This is mirrored in our stance and restriction of model and texture alterations. The second reason is that it removes too much player reaction and decision-making while facing dungeon and raid encounters. While some other mods also work to this end, we find that AVR and the act of visualizing strategy within the game world simply goes beyond what we’re willing to allow.

The change we’re making in attempts to break the functionality is light in its touch and approach. When blocking any functionality we run the risk of affecting other mods, but we’ve targeted the changes as carefully as possible. If we find that the AVR mod (or any mod attempting to replicate its functions) are usable after 3.3.5 we will take further, more drastic steps.

Where are your crutches now?!
