Previous guilds & why you left -- please include transfer information:

I am GM of currently, but due to little raid experience and no growth, people have been steadily leaving.

Raid Experience:

All Wrath raids and for ICC i know all the first wing fights and have been reviewing tankspot for the fights after Saurfang.

Why are you applying to Damage Control?

I know its a great guild and know a few people here.

Please tell us how you are currently working to "gear up" your toon and maximize your raid output (such as running heroics, PuGs, crafting, PvP, arena, etc.) and what current stats you're looking to improve.

Running Heroic PoS for the SP trinket, getting into PUG ICC's for the occaisonal gear drop as my guild cannot run it..i am looking to decrease haste and get more spellpower.

Are you prepared to rotate your raid spot?

Absolutely

Do you have Ventrilo and a working mic?

Yes

Mages who don't like haste?
Jbean
I met Nicovante in trade chat today. I bought something from him. In the course of our transaction, he mentioned that he knew Bastila, and that he would love to be in DC. Seeing that his gear was decent, I pointed out that we are recruiting, and could use a mage. I pointed him to the website. Thats really all I know of him.

As for Diens comment... Im not sure. Hopefully Hiruna or Iyari can illuminate... but in some quick searches I found:
The haste peak cap is reached when your spells (Arcane Blast and Missile Barrage + Arcane Missiles, both having a 2.5 sec base cast time) have an effective cast time of 1 sec (subsequent spells can't be cast any faster).

The haste% factors scale multiplicatively, so your haste peak cap now is at:
(2.5 / (1.06*1.05*1.03*1.2*1.3*1.12) - 1) * 3279 = 814 (813.337) haste rating.

Please note that I ignored the effect of Speed Potions and on-proc haste Trinkets; if we take those into account the haste peak cap would be even lower.

Anyways. Love to see what the people who know more about this think.

One thing you may consider to help increase some of your other stats is dropping a few pieces with hit on them (I know hit is everywhere on gear nowadays) since we always have either a shadow priest or boomkin in our 25s. I think you only need 8% with the spell hit buff.

But its always good to keep the gear to hit 11% when you run 10s sans the boomkin/sp.

I spent quite a bit of time talking with Nico today about mage stuffs. He seems like a decent guy. He's also pretty aware of what he needs to tweak on his gear. More SP a little less haste, and less hit. He's just trying to get the pieces that will make him more optimal.

Haste is never a bad thing, but as a mage, SP is the most important stat. Toons really need to build on that first, and then start to stack haste- maybe saying that one has to drop haste should really be phrased like "My haste is pretty good, but if I had to lose some to gain more SP, so be it".

I'd say that he could use a little more spatial awareness, but that's something that is workable- he doesn't come across like someone who wouldn't be able to grow and adapt is what I mean. I'd recommend bringing him along on a non pug raid to see how he does : )

*as a note- Rawr is really good for working out estimated stat weights. Helps ya see what's really going to benefit you the most.

Ran ToC25 with him just now. His numbers were under Berry's mage regularly and his awareness wasn't spectacular.

In terms of personality he does little things that annoy me(they've been noted and I'll elaborate if you really need to know. Would rather not get petty on an app.) And is kind of chatty.

Knowing nothing about mages, I'd say he did a decent job for his gear and his knowledge of ICC

I'd say overall that both mages last night did a great job for being new to some of the fights. They both seemed to follow instructions well, asked questions for clarification, and put up with our inconsistent wipes on festergut. I'd say definitely reinvite this Sunday and potentially next Tuesday if needed. We should also look to get him in a 10man if possible.

Ran some more raids with him today and did a good job

I've continued to get feedback on this app which has been very negative. I've also seen this person is quite vocal in /2. Skill is decent but due to plenty of negative feedback I'm closing this app.
