Plenilune Discordia - Current Guild. My brother and I made this guild for personal reason, which are mostly materials and what not.
Audacity - Reason why I left was due to loot problems in which the Guild Master would give himself about anything he needed, even if the certain item was merely a sidegrade to him.
Brakebein - Reason I left Brakebein was mostly to do with the guild's decision to transfer to a "larger" group who raided 25 man content.
I recently came back to playing WoW due to my recent move from Pennsylvania and had no access to a reliable computer. I've raided and completed most WoTLK content, but most recently started raiding ICC 10 and have gone as far as Lord Saurfang. Never having been part of a "well" organized guild led me to have never really attempt hardmodes in Ulduar or ToGC, but I'm a quick learner and am aware of my surroudings whenever I'm raiding.
The reason I'm applying to Damage Control is that I'm really attracted to how well organized this guild seems to be having read the "About Us" section. You, as a guild, really seem to know what you're doing and seem to expect a lot from your raiders, which is what I'm looking for.
Currently, I'm working on crafting the new ICC pattern for "feet" by doing the daily frost random and getting into ICC10 pugs. Also, I'm grinding heroics and doing BGs to update my PvP gear since I haven't really had a time to do so.
I'd be ready to do what is necessary even if it means letting someone else take my spot incase they've got one to many healers or someone else might've deserved it more than I have. I'm looking to gear up, but I know that doesn't mean I'll be geared with the first, or even the fourth, raid I attend.
I do have Ventrillo, but no mic at the moment since my son accidenlty chewed the receiver.
There isn't really much I'd have to say, other then that I hope you give me chance as I'm a well-rounded player, skill and experienced. Thank you for having taken the time to read and evaluate my application.
I'm not an expert, but his gear looks good, he seems experienced, and is in our age range. Plus what you say about Icy is true.
Since people are having trouble adding him or finding him in-game, maybe note how you type your name into the friend's list, and also add some of us and whisper us to run heroics.
As a holy priest, on fights like BQL where there is a butt load of raid damage going out, this should be your bread and butter fight. You should be destroying most every other healer, except likely a resto druid.
After analyzing several of the logs from last night and comparing it to other Holy Priests in different guilds who have attempted/defeated the encounter, I noticed a few things you could work on:
1) When there is constant raid damage, especially implemented through a raid wide aura, you should be spamming COH on cooldown. You used COH 171 times during a 5m 31s attempt. A log from a priest in Unreasonable who defeated the encounter 30 seconds faster than us, cast COH 252 times.
2) Additionally, your usage of Renew seems low. My understanding is this should be a spell you use liberally in large raid damage fights. Your renew accounted for about 10% of your healing on most fights, while the same priest from above it accounted for about 20% of their healing. Gear could be a factor here however.
3) I'm not sure what your mana levels were like over the course of the fight, but I noticed according to the logs, several times you didn't use your Shadowfiend (I know there were several fights were you did also). You can comment on this, but if you weren't having mana problems you were not healing hard enough. I'm not talking about blindly healing full health targets, but just pushing yourself to take more risks and not be so conservative with mana.
When I end a fight, especially in ICC25, if I have more than 10% mana, I feel like I didn't heal as well as I should have.
4) I big thing about healing is maintaining your raid environment awareness. Maybe someone else can comment on this, as I didn't specifically pay attention to this last night.

Again, just a few things I noticed, based purely on logs, and not knowing that much about the priest class. So I could be wrong on much of it, but was just sparking some conversation since no one else had commented on performance. I'm not sure how much is gear related vs. skill + reaction time.
Granted the priest I was comparing you against is in Unreasonable and is in mostly BIS gear, I think skill often precedes gear when it comes to healing so I think some of the comparisons are apt.
