On Suramar I have been playing since 2006 (my main was a warrior, however I came to the conclusion I needed a very long break from her, if I ever play her again). Since that time, I have been in The Bloodgrin Clan, The Pale Riders, Sinner Among Saints, Unity, and currently in Special Sauce. When I left BGC, it was due to friends leaving and immature players joining the guild. In Pale Riders, also had been due to friends leaving, as well as a huge frustration in failing to make progress in raids. In Sinner Among Saints, we worked very hard to master Ulduar and work with everyone to make raids successful. However, I did not agree with certain changes they were going through, and found some of those changes repellent on a very personal level. That being said, I felt I could no long be in a guild that did not care for its members anymore. After SaS, I joined Unity, but my little laptop made it more and more difficult to attend raids... and I grew quite frustrated with 5-6 frame-rate in 25s (2 fr high-mob fights..) and eventually quite raiding 25s altogether... About that time ICC was released, and though I attempted a few raids, found that my little laptop couldn't really even handle 10s, much less 25s, and I basically quit raiding altogether. (Unity didn't do 10s outside their set groups, and I was too frustrated.) Many of my friends were in Special Sauce, and since that was a 10s guild, I decided to give it a go. I love the members like family. Not too long ago, I finished building my computer, and started raiding again. My main was my dk, Fidjit, who currently runs an unholy sub frost spec, (dps), and as I progressed in raids I realized I kinda liked my boomkin, Gadjit, as well. I am not pulling Fidjit out of SS, the raid times in that guild do not conflict with DC's raid times in any way (that I know of..) and I love the people in SS.
With Gadjit, I have completed all of ToC (10, 25), ICC 10 up to LK, ICC 25 up to Rotface, and a few random weeklies in the older instances. (technically I have attempted RS... but it was a fail group... we won't go there.) So as a boomkin my experience is not ideal, but I have been raiding for quite a bit, starting in Naxx on my dk. (Fidj has done all of Naxx, most of Ulduar, all of ToC, all of ICC 10 and ICC 25 up to Blood Queen) There are definitely some holes in my experience, mostly due to my having to quit raiding almost altogether before I finished building my PC. I know I will have a learning curve, but I do my homework and I do my best to a) not make mistakes b) learn from my mistakes when they happen. (Hey I'm human, I DO make mistakes!) I am always up for constructive criticism, and love learning new things that make the bad guys die faster. :D
There are several reasons I want to apply and raid with you guys, the first and foremost being I want to push my raiding to another level... the level I know I can get to. (sounds pretentious doesn't it?) It's true though, I am tired of banging my head against a wall with casual raiders... I am not a casual raider once I get hooked on something... and even though I LOVE helping others progress, I would like to see more than Morrowgar through Rotface -_-. The few DC people I have run with are the type of raiders I enjoy running with... you know your jobs, I know mine, let's defeat some encounters.
The next reason is that there are some friends I truly miss raiding with.
Third reason, and one that is really about even with a and b... I want to improve. I NEED constructive criticism, and I want to know what I can do to be the best I can. Right now I don't really have that. I have a few friends I theorycraft with, but it isn't enough to casually talk about it. I wanna know what else I can be doing, what I can help others do, to continue to improve and eventually "win". >.>
So, as I said, compared to my DK, I am relatively new to the boomkin. I have read up in different forums, asked different people, and I think I have a decent spec for the gear I have. I know what stats I should have at soft caps/hard caps (generally speaking) but still not always sure what upgrades would be the most beneficial short term. I'm currently way over the "soft cap" for haste, I dropped my last two sp/haste gems for sp/crit, cause I still don't think I am where I need to be for crit. (Ok ok I feel like my procs don't go off fast enough.) I know that in general it is Spellpower > Crit rating (below Lunar cap) > Haste rating (above GCD cap) >= Crit rating (above Lunar cap) >> Intellect > Spirit. I had my Lunar Cap written down somewhere... but I'd have to go find that again to start spouting numbers about it. Basically I need SP Crit upgrades at this point (I think) But again, I am always open to suggestions lol. I do my dailies, weeklies, and VOAs, as well as ICC 10s and 25s as I can. 25s have been problematic, 10s I have been doing almost every week. (This week I am not. Sorry Late-nighters! :P)
Yup
Yup
Eh Hiruna, Cranberry, Evocreton, Pseudo, Antipally, I dunno if I should add Custed I don't know him as well :P I've run with a few others here and there but not often enough to say hey refer me!
Hm well, I'm somewhat obsessive about trying to improve... if anyone is interested they can look at my personal logs for different raids I have been in... WoL guild Gizmos and Gadjits, I don't always run them but I have been trying to so I can see if tweaks I make to spec/gems/etc makes much of a difference and then I can compare. I am aware that you currently are not recruiting, yet I also am aware you don't really have a dedicated boomkin... so if you read all the information I put and understand that I am serious about wanting to improve... maybe I can help with that? >.>
Also, I am a full time student as well as have a full time job... only way that really impacts anything is once a month I have class and sometimes that week before it I need to not do anything... doesn't usually stop me from raiding (though it should) but it is something to be aware of I guess. I am good at letting people know ahead of time communication is such an important aspect of any activity involving multiple people... (pet peeve of mine is no-call no-show) Uhh yea I feel like I am rambling a bit here so I guess I will say see my armory... have at... and even if you decide you don't need me I can learn something from the ensuing discussion :D Thank you for your time
Fidjit/Gadjit >.>
Stat priorities explained... lots of information provided, and I know from Runa's 25's that she's a good player...
She's also called/texted me at times so I could pass on messages of being late.. so responsible. I'm too tired to really go in depth right now, but overall app made me happy not only because I know gadjit/fidjit is a good player, but because she actually put effort into the app..
I don't know balance as much as the other trees (get it? lol)(I'm hilarious) so hopefully some of our gifted players can chime in here and let her know what's up with her spec and gearing.
Two cents....approved.
Armory stuff:
At the very least, professions are at or nearly at max, which is a plus.
Dual spec is nice too. Feral kitty and boomy? Hey, another person we can give all the feral/rogue gear to!
Gadjit isn't exalted with Hodir, but IIRC Fidjit was, so the shoulder enchants are a non-issue. Everything that could be conceivably gemmed and chanted is.
....Oh, who am I kidding. Gad is just an awesome person both in game and IRL and there's no real way for me to critique her. Even when we're supposed to be TAKING A BREAK! from talking about WoW, we invariably try to come up with strategies and ways to play a stronger ranged DPS class because Gadjit is really her first true ranged class, while Fidjit and her previous characters were melee DPS classes.
We talk of boss strats, changes between heroic and normal, how to do this and that... it really runs the whole gamut, and she's always fun to hang around with. Despite her frustrations which come from RL, she always brought her A game even to my 10s and 25s with a sense of fun and exploration as well as learning.
You have a lot of friends in this guild, and a great personality that shines through in game and in your application. In a pure social sense, I think we would invite you in an instant. However, we are not a social guild - we are a raiding guild pushing for top end content.
You are certainly a capable raider - probably better then a lot of the players Ive run with. However, as has been pointed out... your numbers just dont seem to be able to keep up with even some of the lowest DC'ers. Im not saying you arent a good player. I truly believe you are. At this point though, with our low recruitment needs, we arent sure that this is the home for you.
One raider commented to me that you dont seem as comfortable on your Boomkin as maybe you are on some of your other characters. I completely invite you to keep learning your char, keep up with the theory crafting, and become the master player that you probably can be.
Even though we cant accept you right now, please keep in touch with the people you know in the guild, and watch our website for recruitment needs. It is entirely possible that in the Cataclysm shuffle that things will change in a way that might support your re-application.
For now, I hope that the gear and experience you gained in this process were helpful to you, and wish you the best of luck in the future.
